Adam,

When you have time I would appreciate having the Elsdon inscription(s).
Also, is there one for Ralph Reed, please?  I have the James Reed inscription on which he is mentioned, but wondered if there might also be a separate one for Ralph himself.

Many thanks

Hello Jennifer. Here is the only Elsdon inscription:-

In loving memory of Sarah Ellen beloved wife of Cuthbert Elsdon who died 17/December/1939? 1959? age 85 years.
This stone is one of those with lead infill to letters and dates.
The date number has been damaged.

The Reed gravestone with the mention of Ralph.
Is this the one with  James and Jane with their nine children?
There is no other for Ralph Reed.

Adam, very many thanks.

Yes, I have the James Reed inscription. I had been given the impression there might be a separate one for Ralph, but obviously this was wrong.

Thanks again.

Hello Jay. This is an easy one. Here it is:-

Here lieth the body of Magdalen Lowson wife of John Lowson of Dipton, died Nov 7 age 54 years. 1788.

That is exactly how it is on the stone.
What other areas do you have Lowson?

Hi Adam

Thanks for that, but it's a bit early to be mine.  I'll pass it on to someone who might have a connection to them.

Mine are based around Hamsterley/Evenwood area.

Cheers
