Hello Ryan. If you read through the posting for Lanchester you will see that I have already posted inscriptions for Batey/Baty. (I think about three occasions)

Hello Ryan. I am glad you found the Batey inscriptions useful. These finish the rest of your request:-
Erected in the memory of Dorothy, wife of William Dodds, died 4/March/1824 aged 68 years. James, their son died abroad August/28/1810 aged 25 years. Also William, heir son who died in London and buried at Christ Church, April/24/1817 aged 20 years. Also Mary, their daughter and wife of John Reed, who died January/11/1845 aged 52 years (could be 32 because 3 and the 5 are very similar especially when weathered.
In loving memory of Mary, who died 1924 age 48 years Also Edward Dodds, who died November/8/1917 age 78 years. And Elizabeth, his wife who died November/20/1907 aged 73 years. Also John Thomas Dodds, who died February/8/1951 aged 78 years. This gravestone is one that has been pushed over by the council and has broken in two.
In loving memory of Mary Jane Caygil, daughter of the late Edward Dodds of newbiggen, Lanchester, who died May/29/1930 aged 54 years.

Hi Adam,
I know you are very busy, but would it be possibly for you to tell me about the Reed MI's in Lanchester, I have only just discovered a possible place of burial for a relative called Mary Reed. Or has only asked for any Reeds already?
Thank you very much,
Best Wishes,
Ryan

Hello Ryan. Here we go again. You have not read the previous posts for Lanchester before posting your request for Reed. I have posted on the Reed surname before. As for what area I cover and what places I have posted inscriptions for. Just look for Subject started by Adamand. I see no point in repeating the 23 places that I have posted.

Hello Adam,
I am sorry, I just don't think. Have not been on rootschat long and have to get used to it better. I will check the board for any other surnames, so I won't boter you again with more requests.
Sorry.
Regards,
Ryan

Hello Morris. There is only one for Thornton. Here it is:-
In loving memory of Sarah Clarke Thornton, who died January/3/1935 aged 85 years. Also Luke Thornton, husband of the above who died May/1/1935 aged 91 years.

Thank you for that information. (this is my husband's family and I was wondering how many family members might be recorded on the headstone) The family lived in Lanchester for quite a few years. (I know that some of the houses and buildings in Lanchester were built by Luke Thornton (not the same Luke Thornton as the headstone).

Hello Adam,
Do you happen to have any details for TURBETT. This is for a friend who has burials for John 1787 and Ann 1803 but there is a discrepancy in the PR's and the BT's where Ann was described as wife of John and widow of John.
I would appreciate any help. Regards, Colin

Hello Colin. There is one gravestone inscription for Turbett. I do not think it has the information that you are looking for but it may have some useful information:-
Sacred to the memory of Thomas Turbett of Greencroft, who died April/12/1865 aged 71 years. Also of Mary his wife, who died June/12/1864 aged 66 years. Also Thomas John, their son who was killed by an Engine at Stanley Station, May1/1845 aged 16 years. Also Isabell Ann, their daughter, who died November/21/1845 aged 15 years. In loving memory of Robert Turbett, who died August/11/1900 aged 76 years. Also Richard Turbett, who died April/11/1896 aged 70 years. Interred at Gallasheils, sons of the above. Also Mary Harrison of Croft house, Leadgate, daughter of the above, who died February/4/1920 in her 86th year and interred at Leadgate.

Hello Adam,
Thank you very much for those details. I am sure my friend will be delighted with the potted family history, and it seems obvious that they must be related. It might also help to determine if John was Ann's husband, as there was no age given on his burial.
I appreciate all your efforts, Regards, Colin
