Hello HiFly. Only one gravestone for Powton.

Joseph Powton, died February/10/1889 aged 9 years.

There are another two deaths for Powton(without a gravestone)

John Powton, died 14/March/1897 aged 2 years, Stanley, Crook.
Alexander Powton, died 24/November/1865 aged 2 years, Stanley, Crook.

Sorry no names of parents. I has a look at the other catholic records to see if there were any baptisms or marriage records but there were none for Powton or the variation of Powton.

I have the following note from the Crook catholic baptismal registers:

John George, son of William Poutin (sic) and Emma Brooks
born 15th May 1888: bap. 20th May 1888
sponsored by:
Patrick Brennan and Ann Devine?
mar: (1) Ann Bills 8th May 1910 Crook
mar: (2) Ellen Muscroft 8th August 1965 St Anne's Cathedral, Leeds.

This tallies with a branch of my family who intermarried with the Bills family from Crook and later moved to Leeds.

William and Emma Pouten (sic) also sponsored Arthur son of John O'Connor and Jane Lawless at Crook in December 1891.

Hello J.T.A. Found them. No wonder I missed them. There were a variety of spellings for Powton.
Gulielmus and Emma (maiden name Brooks) had 6 children baptised at Crook.
