Good GEDCOM editor ?
« on: Friday 16 May 08 07:45 BST (UK) »

I have a family tree on Ancestry.com which is becoming rather unwieldy because I've foolishly added really distant relatives to it, during efforts to trace the family of cousins, wife, and brother-in-law.  I would like to sever these branches of my tree, and start new trees solely for them.  Can anyone suggest a good computer program which will allow me to save branches of my tree to a new GEDCOM file, and then lop them off my main file ?

I think you can do it in Legacy (free!).  Download your tree to it, split it (I know this can be done, but I haven't managed it yet) and save the bits.  Then export to gedcom.
