Ann WRIGHT (née GOLDSBROUGH) b. 1821
« on: Tuesday 13 May 08 08:43 BST (UK) »

Good morning,

Anne was born in Hornby - the Hornby near Great Smeaton I think, and not the one south of Catterick - in 1821 or thereabouts.
daughter of George GOULDSBROUGH & Jane METCALF(E). I don't have her exact dob or baptism.

She married Robert WRIGHT (b. Osmotherley 1821) in Darlington in 3rdQ either 1841 or 1842, on 16th August.

Robert died in 1889 and I have Ann as a widow living on her own in the 1891 Census, but with no address. In 1871 and 1881 the couple were living at N°9 New Road, Guisborough. There is every chance that she still lived there in 1891, but I would appreciate it if someone could confirm that for me.

I think Ann died in 2ndQ 1899 as there is a Bmd ref. in Guisborough for an Ann WRIGHT which is the only one I can see with approximately the right age.

If anyone could possibly clear up any of the above points - dob, baptism, exact date of marriage, death - I would be very grateful.

Many thanks,

Nick

Thanks Susan,

I suspected that would be the right answer, but it's always satisfying to have confirmation !

Much appreciated,

Nick
