Hi
I was having trouble viewing it for dating, so I've put up a smaller one for people to see more easily.
It's a tricky one as the shawl covers any clothing. Maybe 1890s. Does it have anything on the back to indicate a photographer?

Gadget, That's much easier - thank you Not an easy one to date, is it? Dick, I'm having problems finding her, I'm afraid. Not only her death, but I can't find her on the 1901 census - might be me, though - it's late! Was hoping to check her surname spelling - can you help, please ? Do you know a reference for her on the census? Paulene

Quite agree - bet she was a lovely granny - gentle, kindly face, hasn't she? Reminds me a little of my own grandmother in France. Paulene

Hi Dick and Gadget, Can't find a death on freebmd for Charlotte Duddridge (even tried Atwell) - not showing anything up to 1920 - but I expect you've tried that. Found that Montague Cooper was listed as a photographer, working in the HIgh Street at Chard, in Kelly's 1914, and 1919 directories - but strangley nothing coming up for him earlier Paulene

Dick, Just a thought - have you thought about ringing the nearest local studies library to where she lived. Sometimes they have a names index, where names of local people have been picked out of the old newspapers for obituaries, etc. Worth a try, and you should be able to do it by telephone, or letter. Take care of yourself. Paulene
