Please can someone take a look on the 1841 census for a John Reed (Read) married to a Mary with a 2 year old son Henry.
John was born in Yaxely Suffolk
Henry in Purleigh

Hi Susan,
There is no index to the 1841 so I did a manual search of Purleigh. As you are no doubt aware place of birth is not given only an indication as to whether the person was born in the county in which they are living. These are the only Reads I could find.
Ho 107/327/22
Cock Clarks, Purleigh
Thomas Read 35 ag lab not born in county
Mary Read 25 born in county
George Read 10 "
Henry Read 3 "
Not sure this is who you are looking for but it may help.

Not sure if they are the right one but all the names tie in didn't know about the 10 year old, but could be from the first marrage of John.

Since relationships are not given on the 1841 be careful what conclusions you draw, things are not always what they seem.
