I know this is a long shot but if anybody finds a Julia Mills aged a bout 10 in Malmesbury in 1861 could they let me know. I've just found her marriage but it will take a few weeks to get the certificate here in Canada and I'm just impatient.
This is the first Wiltshire family that I have found and really don't know the county well and also wonder where Mere is?

Once again thank you so much. If this the correct family it opens up all sorts of new avenues as there continue to be Mills in Brokenborough through to 1901. Trying to sort out who is who will be interesting. Jane

Very little at this moment. She married William Hicks of Marshfield Gloucestershire in Westbury St Mary's Malmesbury in June Quarter 1870(waiting for certificate) There first child was born October of that year!! Obviously a well planned event!! and the family were in William's home village of Wick and Absom Gloucestershire. I believe my ggrandfather George to have been born in 1872 in Daighnton Gloucester and the next child in Aust. The rest of them were born in the Cardiff area where Julia died in 1888.
Having been brought up in South Wales and with most of my research there I am much more familiar with the area and am able to make assumptions about where they might be etc. Gloucestershire is rather more unfamiliar so any help is wonderful. I am ashamed to say I had never heard of Brokenborough or Absom and Wick before starting this research
