BT internet email problems

Anyone else having problems accessing their emails with BT?   It says I have 22 new messagesand starts to download them but after a while it comes up with send/receive error and stops.  Very frustrating!

Does it get stuck in the same place each time? A friend had a similar problem (each time 1st 3 (or whatever number) messages appeared and then stopped). He was able to solve the problem by going to www.mail2web and looking at the list of emails, deleting all spam (including the problem one) and then back to Outlook Express to get mail as usual.

I am trying that but it is not going into it.   This is a real pest.  All started with the false trojan report that AVG was finding with the Sussex Marriage Index CD.   (See earlier postings)  I am using my laptop for this as the desktop one will not go onto any site except aol!    Bit ironic as I left aol as I had so much trouble with it!
I have run an AVG scan which did not find any problems.

Can you not access them by logging into http://home.bt.yahoo.com/ or is it not a BT email address Huh

I've just checked mine and they're fine. I only ever look via webmail though - never download.

I don't think AVG would be checking them if you're viewing them via webmail.

I think I must have some other problem as that computer will not go onto IE either.  It loads aol mail and btinternet mail as it starts.  aol is fine but bt still not receiving properly- or at least it has now produced at least 10 copies of one email but nothing else!   I have deleted several with large attachments via btyahoo using this laptop.     I hate computers!
