Hi Peter, I tried google maps - there is an Arthur Street in Garston, which is the north of Liverpool but no Arthur Street in Toxteth (which is south) today. There are some people who have old maps of Liverpool who I hope will be able to help you further.

Hi Peter
Arthur Street, Toxteth Park has been re-developed. It was in South Toxteth Park near the Dingle - http://www.toxteth.net/maps/liverpool/lpool5c.htm. If you click on the red arrow you will see a photograph of the street in 1969. No 21 would be between the lamp post and the first car on the opposite side of the road.
The other half is on square 5D. These maps are from 1906. If you right click each square, and save them, you can stitch them together using something like Paint.
If you search for Beloe Street on Google Maps and switch to satellite view you can see what is there now. A bit north west of the tree I would guess.

Great photo - thanks Ken. Gee the 60's has a lot to answer for. Such a shame to lose those houses.
Add the necessary santiation, heating etc, by all means but I wish they'd kept the houses

And each of those cobbles (sorry: setts) would be worth at least £2 each.

And lovely they are too - (didn't know they were called setts - you learn something new every day).

Ruskie…Cobble is as taken from a beach or river, ie rounded. Setts are ‘worked’ from quarried material.
Johngirl…your firehydrant is my lamppost. Do we have fire hydrants above ground?
