Hi, Looking for a James KIDD in 1870 census. It's possible he may be in Orange, Cuyahoga, Ohio if that helps? Born about 1805 England and with wife Elizabeth born about 1802??
Thanks in advance, Lilygirl.

Hi Lily. Found him right where you said he would be. He is 66, farrmer, value of real estate is $2100 and value of personal assets is $450. It says he is from England, but there is something written above it that I am having a hard time making out. It looks like it starts with an H and it might be a county in England. He is with wife Elizabeth, 67, born England also.
Living right next door (well, as next door as farmers did) is a Joseph Kidd, 31, farmer, born Ohio, Sarah, 20, born Ohio, Jane, 3, and Mary 1, both born Ohio.
Anything else?

Hi there,
Yeah thanks a lot. Would love to find him in earlier census also. He had a son David born about 1832/1833 in Cambridge, England
I found him in 1880 census in Fillmore Minnesota and David had a son Benjamin born in ILL which makes me think they're all related to my Illinois lot that came out. So......wondering too if possible to find passenger list for a James b1805 and wife Elizabeth, son David born 1833ish One lot came in 1837 so guessing they may have also!?
Anything at all you can find would be fantastic! Thanks again Lilygirl.

I have James and Elizabeth still in Orange in 1880. I don't see Joseph next door, though.
I did find a James and Elizabeth Kidd in Northfield, Richmond, NY, with children James, 19, John, 15, Abraham, 13 and Caroline, 6, all born in england in the 1850 census. I only mention them, because I think this is the same family that is in Center, Illinois in 1860, all the same kids, and Caroline married to Isaac Morgan. Just trying to make that Ill connection, because I also have James and Elizabeth in Orange with Robert, 20, John, 19, Joseph, 17, and William 14, all born in Ohio in the 1860 census.
Now, in 1850, they are in Orange, with sons David, 17, James 16, Robert, 12, Joseph, 10, and William 6. Interestingly, this census has all but Joseph and William born in England.
Now this never happens for me. First look at passenger lists and I think I have them. Aboard the Neptune on May 18, 1837, there is James Kidd, 20, Eliza, 20, Kate, 7, David 4, and James, infant.
I think that's it. I hope I didn't confuse anything throwing in that bit about the Illinois Kidds. Let me know if I can look for anything else.

Hey thanks that's so cool, I am SOOOOO confused now tho!
I have a James KIDD born 1805 that went to the states. Think he's the one that had son David b1833 England. (so that makes him the one in 1850 census Orange Ohio I think?!)
I have a Benjamin KIDD born 1796 (older brother to the James above) that went to the states - have him in 1850 Troy, LaSalle, Illinois.
Benjamin had a son William b1817 I can't account for yet and a son James born 1820. I have this James b1820ish in 1860 census in LaSalle, Illinois married to Elizabeth with children William John and Benjamin.
Now from what you've posted would like to work out if the James and Eliz you posted in NY in 1850 with children james 19, john 15, abraham 13, Caroline fit in also??
So is if possible to post all the info from the 1850 NY lot - ages of James and Eliz and birthplaces etc and latter census too if you can find them. And the 1860 census of this family in Center Illinois as I haven't seen that entry at all - (i was referring to the KIDDs in La Salle when I mentioned my other illinios lot in previous message.)
And the ages and birthplaces etc from the Orange Ohio lot in 1850 and 1860. Maybe it might be easier to do one family at a time?! How exciting is this I know there's possibility they're not related but me thinks they probably will be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! somehow!
Thanks again hope I didn't confuse you too much there. Am so grateful for help. Happy hunting Lilygirl.

The only one I could find in 1870 was Caroline Morgan in Walnut, Bureau, Illinois Isaac Morgan, 41, farmer, real estate worth $2500, personal assets $700, born Eng Caroline, 25, keeping house, born Eng Mary, 11, born Ill Absolent, 9, born Ill Elfed, 6, born Ill
1880, Peoples, Boone, Iowa Isaac Morgan, 54, farmer, born Eng, parents born Eng Caroline, 32, wife, keeping house, born Eng, parents born Eng Mary A, 19, daughter, born Ill, parents Eng Absolem, 18, son, farmer, born Ill, parents Eng Alfred, 16, son, farmer, born Ill, parents Eng George, 6, son, born Ill, parents Eng Minnie, 3, daughter, born Ill, parents Eng
1900 Peoples, Boone, Iowa Ab Morgan, head, born nov 1862, single, born Ill, parents Eng, farmer, owns free Caroline, mother, born Mar 1844, has 5 kids, 5 living, born Eng George, brother, born Dec 1873, Ill, parents Eng Minnie, sister, born Aug 1878 Ill, parents Eng
I think that's it for this family.
