Free BMD records the birth of Elizabeth Lyon, Dec Q 1853 in Huntingdonshire.
Grateful for her 1861 census record.

Slight difference but this is not unusual in old records. Many thanks for your help.

This one is also possible:
1861: RG9 P. 960 Fol. 22 Pg. 12
Living Ringstead, Northamptonshire
LYON Job Head M 34 Shoemaker B. Northants. Ringstead Elizabeth Wife M 29 Dressmaker B. Northants Denfold Elizabeth Dau 7 Scholar B. Northants, Ringstead William Son 4 B ~ ~ Thomas E Son 2 ~ ~ Thomas Hornby Nephew 13 Shoemaker B. Northants Woolaston
Ringstead is within the registration district covered at that time by Thrapston, where Elizabeth's birth was registered.

The last two have crossed.
Free BMD and Elizabeth's (Mitchell from 1871) census records for 1881 and 1891 put her birth around 1853.
1881 records her birth in Somersham, Huntingdonshire, 1891 records Turmmsinn, Huntingdonshire - the latter looks like a bad spelling

This thread has attracted much response, can I just recap:
Free BMD records the birth of Elizabeth Lyon, Dec Q 1853, Thrapston District, Vol 3b, Page 154. Thrapston is described as spanning the boundaries of Huntingdonshire and Northamptonshire
Elizabeth's 1881/1891 census records are consistant with Huntingdonshire and her birth as c.1853.
I was trying to find the name of Elizabeth's parents, nothing more.

As Mum44 says, the birth was registered in Thrapston registration district, and the Ringstead 1861 entry looks more likely to be the one than someone whose birth was said to be Somersham, which was in St Ives registration district.
It's quite possible that her birth wasn't registered as 1853 was still early days in the era of civil registration.
But if you're just looking for parents then Ricky's 1871 census entry seems to provide the answer

Mum44, what's FMP? FreeBMD haven't quite completed transcribing this quarter which explains why it's not coming up in a search.
