Have had a reply but not good news I'm afraid.   He says:

'I am sorry but I have no further information about Caroline Rossiter.   The Rossiter name is only linked to my tree through marriages and at the moment I cannot tell you through which side of the family the connection is.

If I find anything further I will let you know'.

Back to the drawing board I guess although I still think the 1871 marriage needs investigating.

Thanks very much for your help Annette. Much appreciated.
Will try and look into the marriage that you suggest.
Maybe Rcuser will find her before me.  Wink

Hi rcuser

Have had another e-mail from the Heath man.  He says:

'The computer was on go slow last night, there I was unable to turn up the information.   The locations are Evercreech, Shepton Mallet and Monkton, Pembrokeshire.   The names are linked to my sister-in-law who still lives in Pembrokeshire, staring with:-

Ann Rossiter b.1771 who married John Ballinger b.1767.   Their daughter Ann b.1793 married Robert Reakes b.1790, their daughter Jane b.1819 married Charles Ware b.1821.   Eliza Reakes Ware b.1851 married Charles Marriott b.1853.   They moved to Pembroke where their children married.

I have again been looking at the BMD for Caroline Rossiter and cannot find any good results after 1861.   The other thought is that she had another christian name and started using it instead of Caroline.

Regards John'

No wonder we couldn't see a connection!

Whether as a single or married woman I feel certain Caroline emigrated.   Good Luck.
