Thorney Look Up

Hi

I am looking for the baptism and marriage records for Henry Chapman.

All I know about him is that he was a smith born at Thorney (from his daughter's marriage certificate).

He married Sarah Rippeth from Ryton, County Durham. The first child was born in Ryton in 1786. So presumeably he married abt 1785 and was born abt 1763.

All help greatly appreciated.

He's not on Hunts Marriage Index so it seems likely that he was married in Co. Durham if Sarah was from there and their first child was born there.

Just realised that Thorney was/is in Cambridgeshire so it's probably not surprising that he isn't on Hunts Marriage Index!

Thorney parish register hasn't been extracted onto either the IGI or BVRI, although a transcript is available from Cambs FHS. I'd repost on the Cambs board in the hope that someone has the Thorney transcript to look for the baptism
