I am Just Looking for David Gemmell/Mary Hendrie, Born about 1860 & 1856. Also John douglas Hendrie/ Mary Mcavoy, Born about 1858 & 1854. In the 1891 &1901 Cenus. They married in Ayr.

Hi Tricia,
Thanks for the information. John Douglas Hendrie and Mary McAvoy married in 1876, St Quivox. I only have one child born to them a John McAvoy Douglas Hendrie, born 1879 in Newton-on-Ayr and he married in1903 Wallacetown. I was Hoping David Gemmell& Mary Hendrie might have shown some children but it do,s not look as though they had any.

I think this may be your 2nd family in 1891. The reason I asked about children is because I can't access the image to make sure it has been transcribed correctly and I was worried about 'Maggie' - this may well be Mary - don't know how bad the writing is on the original.
So, I wanted another name to confirm the match. Can't see another near miss.

Hi Tricia,
Thanks once again, It do,s look like my family. John was a carter and Margaret was 4yrs older than John everything seems to fit. Both parents were dead by 1903.
I am very grateful for your help.
