Usher Moor - Which Registration District?

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for Usher Moor, Durham on a map but all I can find is Ushaw Moor - are they the same place?  I'm trying to find out if Usher Moor could have been in the registration district of Lanchester in 1888?  I've tried the BMD Index of Place Names but it's not listed on there.  Thanks for any help.

Almost certainly. Ushaw Moor was in the Parish of Esh at that time, and therefore definitely in Lanchester Registration District.

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks a lot for your help - I thought it would be Lanchester but just wanted to make sure.  I found a modern address on google just now with Usher Moor in it and when I brought up the map it went straight to "Ushaw Moor" so they surely are the same place.  Thanks again.
