Hello Carolena. Bell is a very common name in the dale and I have a total of 55 gravestone inscriptions for Bell. 14 of these are at Wolsingham, ranging from late 1800's up to the present day. Could you let me have some idea of the dates that you are interested in, bearing in mind that I use the 1950's for the cut off date for posting on this board. Any dates after this would come via the personal mail

Hello Adam Thanks for your quick reply. The Bells that I am interested in died between about 1830 and 1900. I see that your range is from late 1800s but hope some fall into my period. Regards, carolena

In memory of Jane, beloved wife of John Bell of Sunnyside, who died February/8/1903 aged 78 years. Also of the above John Bell, who died August/8/1904 age 78 years. Also Thomas Bell of Stanhope, son of the above, who died April/22/1890 age 27 years.
In memory of Thomas Bell of Trodbeck House, Wolsingham, who died November/17/1894 aged 68 years. Also Margaret Bell, mother of the above, who died February/20/1865 aged 88 years.Also Margaret, his wife, who died November/29/1922 aged 85 years.
In affectionate memory of James Bell of Wolsingham, beloved husband of Elizabeth Bell, who died March/11/1901 age 61 years. Also the above Elizabeth Bell, who died October/12/1906 aged 64 years. Also Harriet, the beloved daughter of the above, who died May/16/1898 aged 28 years. Also William Bell, son of the above, who died September/25/1886 age 12? years.
In memory of George Bell of Wolsingham, died April/19/1879 aged 52 years. John Bell, son of the above, died March/19/1881 aged 31 years. Ellen Bell, daughter, died July/26/1868 age 4 months. George Bell, son of the above George and Jane Bell, who died at Sheffield January/28/1898 aged 34 years. Also the above Jane Bell, who died May/1/1906 aged 72 years. Also Alfred bell, grandson of the above George and Jane Bell, who died December/17/1906 age 30 years.
In loving memory of Madeline Bell, who died August/6/1907 age 1 year and 4 months. Also Sydney Bell, who died October/6/1911 aged 7 years The beloved son and daughter of Hopper and Mary Bell.

Hello Lynn. Here they are :-
In memory of Harry, the beloved son of James and Alice Craggs, died January/10/1876 aged 4 months. Also the above Alice Craggs, died January/30/1890 aged 44 years. Also Elizabeth, their daughter, died August/19/1891 aged 12 years.
There is also a Craggs stone but it is from the 1960. You can have it by personal mail if you require it.
To the memory of George Pattison, died December/11/1817 aged 75 years. ???ara, wife of George Pattison, died May/11/1819 aged 67 years. William, son of William and Sarah Pattison of Bounder House, died April/18/1812 aged 29 years. William, son of George and Barbara Pattison, died ??/26/1844 aged 68 years.
In memory of Margaret, daughter of George and Margaret Pattison of Bounder House, who died April/26/1868 aged 32 years.

Hello Kay. I have already posted the inscriptions for Whitfield on this thread. As it is your first posting I will tell you that it is post number 42. It is a good idea to read the postings because you never know what useful information you may find. As for the Hopper name , are they C of E or Catholic? I have two C of E and one Catholic.
