Looking for information on my putative 7th gt grandfather. We know he was born about 1640. He is reputed to have had nine children in Medbourne between 1665 (Henry) and 1683 (Sarah). To date we have not found evidence of his wife, parents or place of origin. We do know that his descendents ultimately moved over the border to Middleton and Cottingham, Northamptonshire Many thanks , Alan

I’ve noticed that in the early registers that only the Father name is recorded.
No sign of Robert (Snr) Baptism….sorry.

There has been a suggestion in our own searches (which I personally think is unlikely) that this Robert might be related to the Robert, son of John Claypole and Mary Angell and brother of Sir John Claypole who married Elizabeth, daughter Oliver Cromwell.
