How to get to Chat Room within Rootschat?

I am brand new to this site and thought I would look in the "chat" room by hitting "CHAT" (2nd icon from the right at top of page).    I get....................

Loading Settings..... OK
Loading font.............OK
Loading Smiles ........100%

where it then stays.  Very frustrating.  Am I doing something wrong?

PS It doesn't help that I cannot find any contact details for the owners of the site where I can got for help!

Thanks for responding Trystan .........but as far as I can see I have to cross my fingers, think of England, and hope it will sort itself in some mysterious way.  Thats how everyone else seems to have solved what is obviously not an uncommon problem!

Not being very patient, I find this all very frustrating!

Surely, you need to reboot after trying those things? (didn't see you log off)

You're not missing a great deal (there are only half a dozen people in there right at the moment, happily chatting away) - the main activity is here on the boards - so post your family history interests on the main boards.

Sorry to butt in, but I had the same problem and tried all the things you suggested trystan.  I gained access after a couple of days fiddling around on and off, so not sure what actually worked in the end.  Duh.
Not sure what kind of firewall and setting you have TheMaster but ...
I did however, turn off ZoneAlarm (do so at your own risk) and then put the rootschat url into my Sites List.  Rebooted the pc and I think this is what did the trick.
Sorry cannot help specifically.

Trystan.   You are right, the only thing I haven't done is to reboot.  Will try that in a min.

Jonathan, Thanks for the butt-in (lol).  Have done as you suggested, but as I said to Trystan have not rebooted. 

If you don't hear from me again it coz I have torn-out what little remains of my hair, found a tall building ..... and jumped!

Another option to check out ..
Ad blocking software either standalone or within your browser or Firewall will stop the chat room from loading
Pop up blockers will also stop it again either within the browser or firewall software ..

Failing that, whispering into the computers ear just exactly what you are going to do with the screwdriver can sometimes work  Tongue
