Marriage look-up please

Hi

Can anyone help please. Im looking for the marriage  of John Hodges b 1837 Newington Surrey. All I have on John's wife is that her first name was possibly Mary Ann/e (maiden name unknow)
b 1831 Wiltshire?. In 1861 and 1881 the family lived in Islington,but in 1871 they moved to Spittlegate Lincolnshire. In the 1861 census Mary Ann was a dressmaker John was a railway guard most of his life.

You could get one of the childrens Birth Certs to ascertain her Maiden / Previous name ....... I cant see an obvious Wilts marriage in FreeBMD.


Her PoB in 1861 is Potterne, Wilts - in the Devizes Regn District

But 1871 and 1881 is Keevil - Westbury Dist .....


The kids middle names in 1881 may be a clue - Harris and Bewley ....

Hi Mike

I found three possibilities:
John Hodges and Mary Ann Katon at Bethnal Green, Dec 1855, 1c 658
John Hodges and Mary Ann Scott at Mile End Town, Mar 1858, 1c 727
John Hodges and Mary Ann Knee at Lambeth, Jun 1859, 1d 410

None in Wiltshire.

Another way to discover which one would be to search for any of those 3 on the censuses and find where they were born.
