Hi Christine

Just putting a link to your other post to link all the replies and stop people repeating searches  Smiley

www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,305890.0.html

Have you got Constance Clark on the 1901 census or would you like me to post her entry?

As Milly suggested, your best source will be Scotlands People for bmd info. There is for example a marriage in 1905 for a Constance Clark in Edinburgh but this doesn't fit well with her having Janet in 1906 in Elgin (I asssume Janet's birth was illegitimate?). The only other marriage for a Constance Clark was in 1928 in Rutherglen, Lanarkshire. No other marriages show with this name.

Can't see any death entries for a Constance Clark 10 yrs +/- of her birth year of 1883 post 1901 unfortunately.

Regards.

I meant to also add, there is only one other Constance Clark showing on the 1901 census, b. 1900 in Glasgow. Wouldn't surprise me if that 1928 marriage in Rutherglen was hers.

Hi Chris

have you looked at LIBINDX http://libindx.moray.gov.uk/mainmenu.asp ? It is a very useful site.

There is an entry for Constance which includes some of her known addresses, including the poorhouse. It also gives her parents as William Clark, Salmon Fisherman and Jane Innes. There are references to Poor relief applications going up to 1907, if you can access these it might give more details.
You have to click on the different icons on the right to get the full details after the results screen comes up.

Hopefully this might help point you in the right direction.
