Hi Scully
I notice the IGI marriage of John WILSON & Elizabeth ALISON is a submitted one... Any chance John was really James, or was John James/James John?
Arabella is an uncommon name and I wonder abt this one:
Auchterderran, Fife Par: 405 , ED 2, Pg: 11 Address: Camilaw Path James WILSON 61 - AGricultural Labourer - Y Betsy WILSON 61 - N Arabellla WILSON 12 - Y Betsy WILSON 7 - Y
But then.....I see on IGI: A David WILSON and Annabella ALEXANDER married Auchterderran and had children there incl: Annabella 1829 Betsy Walker WILSON 1834
SO maybe that 1841 Arabella is really Annabella and James & Betsy are grandparents

Hi Ambly, In the 1861 Census it said Arabella was born in Ayr. On her death it said her parents were John Wilson & Elizabeth Allison. So i think the marriage of John & elizabeth is the right one, I need to find out if there were other siblings to arabella.

Hi Scully
I don't know if you already have this information.
There was a marriage in 1854 in Ayr of an ARABELLA WILSON and JOHN MOFFAT according to an extracted entry on the IGI, if she had siblings they might have been witnesses. It also looks as though 2 of their children were named John and Elizabeth which would be in keeping with Scottish naming patterns.
This Arabella seems to have died in 1906 at the age of 79 (which fits with a birth year of 1827) in Ayr.
SP has no record of a John Wilson marrying an Elizabeth in 1815-1820 in Stranraer, but it's not that uncommon for it not be be recorded there.
There are a few possible entries for them on the 1841 Ayr census on Freecen, it just depends how far you are willing to allow for rounding of ages.
Do you have any other information that might help narrow it down?
