Hi All,
About 90% of my family comes from Kent and in particular Tonbridge/Tunbridge Wells.
I have searched fruitlessly for PRs on these districts and come up with nothing. Unfortunately I am unable to visit the Archives as I live in Spain, and therefore want either orderable records or online sources. The LDS site only has limited records and (of course!) NONE of the ones I am searching for!
I did ask the Kent archives some time ago about transcriptions or PRs, and they offered me fiches (I donīt have a reader) at about 6 GBP each - there were about 45 or so of them!
Tonbridge/Tunbridge Wells seem to be the only parishes NOT transcribed!!
Can anyone give me any pointers, please?
Many thanks

The Tunbridge Wells Family History Society have transcribed some parish records which are avilable on CD.
See their website
http://www.tunwells-fhs.co.uk/
The Kent Research Planning Aid lists what records are available where:
http://www.ancestrysolutions.com/KRPARev2004.html
However the IGI dates listed are not up-to-date. Casalguidi has made a list of recent additions to the IGI for Kent on the Kent boards:
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,283808.15.html
Don't forget to post the name you are researching - someone may be able to help.

Hi,
Thanks for the information!
As you will see from my post - I have already tried the IGI to no avail.
The Tunbridge Wells FHS has fiches (Idonīt have a reader!) PLENTY of books about genealogy, and a few CDs of records, none of which are the ones I am looking for!
If you look at the bottom of my post, there is a list of my surname interests there.
I guess I will have to resign myself to the fact that the records I want are just not available at the moment!
Thank you anyway! Best wishes

Yes, I have - what a fantastic site that is too!
I have managed to glean some information from here, although quite a few of my leads end up with a brick wall! i.e. no ancestor report!
Thanks again!

Hi Casalguidi
Thank you - yes - I have a subscription with this site, and Ancestry and Genealogy, and the Genealogist!! I have milked them all for all I am worth!
I have several small(ish) gaps to fill, one of which is my ggg grandad David Harryman born 1765 Boughton Monchealsea, (sired an illegitimate son Thomas 25.07.1784 with Martha Dodson) married Sarah Head 13-06-1791 had 6 children with Sarah, then upped and left them to the Overseers of the Poor in 1815. I have quite full information up to here, and from his son James, who is my gg grandad, down to me
After that date I nor any of my other genealogy hunting relatives can find any trace of him, no death, no emmigration record, no court record - nothing. So I would love to find out what happend to him!
Also Davidīs father William Harryman (Hereman)b. c1697 in Boughton Monchelsea, married Jane Rigden 1724. I would like to find his parents and backwards if possible.
Please let me know if I should be putting this post elsewhere.
Thanks for your help
regards

Hello Matt,
Thanks very much for your kind offer - unfortunately the records for Boughton Monchelsea are held at Maidstone as far as I am aware - not a lunchtime trip!!
Thanks again Yvonne (not Mick!!)

LadyKira,
Do you mean you have a connection with the Harryman/Hereman family? If so, could you tell me what it is - I may be able to help you with some information or vice versa!!
Yvonne (nee Harryman)

Hi Linda,
Thatīs very kind of you - yes please!
I have a CD copy of the PRs but my gggg grandfather is just not on it! Perhaps you would be kind enough to look for him for me ?
William Hereman(Harriman/Harryman/Herriman) born 1697 I think. I want his parents/fatherīs name if possible!!
I am waiting on the receipt of a microfiche for Mereworth PRs (a lot of my ancestors came from there too) to look for him there, because on his burial record it says he was "from Meriworth". I was always given to believe that he was born in Boughton Monchelsea - but itīs worth a shot.
Thanks you again, very much!
Yvonne

Linda,
I just notices you are researching the Ralph family, they are part of my maternal tree, maybe we are researching the same family?! Although most of mine came from Southborough.
