If one gets stuck looking for Edwards origins, try under Kim(p)ton in 1861 !
His father seems to have been enumerated twice - in Littlington and Welwyn, and in 1871 theres a real trancription error ..... but its the same people ... sons named George and Edward, wife Elizabeth and occupation Carpenter

Dont want to remove the enjoyment of the search, hence havent posted actual findings ......
Hmmmm. in 1851 and 1841 there are TWO individuals born c1834/5 Littlington, called Edward - a Harradence AND a Kimpton ... neither show any inclination to become carpenters

The IGI should help, altho I cant see Edwards christening, a lass called Phoebe c1845 has a mother named :-
HEPHZIBAH SARAH KIMPTON HARRADENCE
but no Father shown in the 'extracted' record
