It is marked on my road atlas of Sussex as a Convent and I know I have passed it on the road. Whether it was a convent in the 40s I am not sure though.

Brilliant Kerry that explains it all, I have a letter from an Uncle who I belive was a monk, saying the boys will soon be back to class , I just need to find out more about him as he has changed his name, thanks again. Snowdrop

Glad to help. It's in a beautiful spot, a large gated entrance as you pass on the lane, you turn a sharp corner and there is a farm with a pond and a letter box and that is it. I seem to remember wandering geese too.
