« on: Sunday 25 May 08 08:19 UTC (UK) »

Hi,
I have two women I need baptism record for in the Anglican church both born in St Ives.  One is Beatrice Flamstead Young born June 1901.  I would like to know who her parents are.
The other one is Mary Rachel Young born March quarter 1907.  I need to know her parents too.  I think they are sisters but I'm not sure.

Any other information on these women would be great.
Thank you for your help
Hera

They were born in St Ives registration district, not necessarly the parish of St Ives  - in fact in your earlier thread I thought the couple you're interested in were living in Fenstanton, unless you've found something in the meantime. Where did the marriage take place?  There were 24 parishes in St Ives reg district.

As the registers for neither Fenstanton nor St Ives have been transcribed for this period and as they haven't been filmed by the LDS either, your best bet is to order the birth certificates from the GRO. I know, it'll cost £14 for what might be a wild goose chase, but you can reduce the cost by specifying that the GRO should send the certificates only if the father is Evelyn.

Hello,
Thanks.
They married in St. Ives June 1900.
Yes they lived in Fenstanton and elsewhere. I am trying to make sense of it all.  I did not know you could ask the register office to only send the certificate if you told them the father's name.  This will be very helpful.
Thanks again

At the bottom of the second page of the application form on the  GRO website there's a box "Reference Checking"

You can complete whichever field(s) you like and the GRO will only issue the certificate if it matches the reference points. If it doesn't match they charge £3 rather than £7 for an unwanted certificate.
