SANDOE Kenwyn 1755 baptism
« on: Monday 26 May 08 12:02 BST (UK) »

Looking for batism info on

Mary SANDOE b 1755 Kenwyn Parish. I believe her father was Anthony SANDOE.

Just wondering if there might be more info on her parents or any siblings. There appear to be a lot of Anthony Sandoe`s so just trying to untangle them a bit!

Would be very grateful if anyone can help
Thank you
sheddyg

Hi sheddyg,

I can see you are really up against it here. As you say given the number of marriages in Kenwyn for Anthony Sandoe in the 1740/50's, and that the baptisms in Kenwyn at this time including Mary's all only list father as Anthony with no mother listed. Are there any clues in her Childrens names?

Hi Kris, Thank you for your reply Smiley

Yes, I`m finding this line very challenging!
Mary married David HAMBLY and the children I have for them are:
Mary 1775
Honour 1777 (d.1781)
Honour 1782(d. 1786)
Elizabeth 1786
David John 1789
William 1792
John 1796  - I am descended from John - I am confident of my research from him through to the present day as I have certificates etc.
Dee?poss around 1800?

This is all information given to me by a researcher cousin which, I believe, came from books and notes etc handed down through the family.
I have been in touch recently with two other researchers (possible distant cousins) who have varying information so I`m not even sure we are all talking about the same Anthony.
Still, I would like to try and untangle things a bit. I have had so much success with lots of other branches but I don`t really know where to start with this one.

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Not sure if this is any help, sheddyg or if you've got any further with your dilema.

There are two wills listed for Anthony Sandoe here http://crocat.cornwall.gov.uk/DServe/searchpage.htm

AP/S/3022 1744
Anthony Sandoe a tinner of Kenwyn

Or:
AP/S/3485  1771
Anthony Sandoe a tinner of Kenwyn

Best wishes, Sue

i think some of the Kenwyn bp. around that time maybe a little earlier are missing i possibly have Jane Sandoe / Sandow from circa 1700 Kenwyn
