Hi, I wonder if anyone knows if there are any early marriage records for Leafield,Chipping Norton that have been transcribed. I am trying to trace the marriage of ThomasTurfery to Rebecca? would be about 1784/5 time.they had a son baptised in October 1785 at Leafield, which seems to be the first child in their familyhis name was Thomas, there were other children born to the couple after that time and going through till around 1795. would appreciate it very much if anyone knows of early marriage records for Leafield, or if marriages for there were done in another parish close by. many thanks, JUNE.
All pre-1853 Leafield marriages are included in the Shipton-under-Wychwood PRs (as are pre-1784 baptisms and pre-1831 burials).
Shipton-under-Wychwood marriages 1538-1840 can be found on the IGI.
A CD-rom of Shipton-under-Wychwood PR entries (Ref. OXF-CN02) can be purchased from the OFHS at £17.50.

My grateful thanks to you Pennie for this current information. I shall get and order the cd today. I did order the cd with Leafield on it and managed to find Thomas's births of his children on there but no marriage of Thomas and Rebecca so hopefully by getting the other cd it will further along my research on the family. many thanks to you, JUNE.
Sue, I am most grateful to you for this information on Thomas and Rebecca, it looks as though this could be the couple I have been searching for. thank you once again, JUNE.
