What happened to Robert & Marion
« on: Tuesday 27 May 08 19:49 BST (UK) »

I am trying to find out what happened to Robert Dickenson b.1858 (Grocer) & his daughter
Marion Fearnley Dickenson b.1887 Chester after he was widowed in 1890.

Robert Henry Dickenson m.Sarah Ann Challinor c.1859-1890 in Prescot Sept qtr 1886

Their only child Marion Fearnley Dickenson was born 1887 in Chester.

I do have them on the 1890 census in Chester with Samuel Challinor(Gardener) & his wife Ann(Domestic servant) living with them.

However,I would like to find what happened to them after that date.

I can tell you that Robert came from a family of Primitive Methodist preachers. His father Miles was a Methodist Minister  & his brothers were lay preachers. It would be interesting to know if he also was.

Did he re-marry? Also did Marion marry & have a family.Any info will be appreciated

Hi -

A possibility on the 1901-

Living at 93 St Luke Road Southport
Thomas Bennett Head age 77 Wid.Retired Prim Methodist Minister b.Stafford
Robert H Dickinson Boarder age37?? Wid.Insurance Collector/Agent b.Northwich
Edith Bibby Gdtr 22 (no ocupation) born Southport

Next door at 95 St Luke Road is Mary Bibby(Wife/Married) age 45(b Scotland)and three daughters - Irene,Florence and Muriel Bibby-all born Southport.
Possibly related to Thomas Bennett as well?

Robert's age isn't quite right but thought it might be worth considering.

Hi Neptune,

Not at all sure of this one, spelling of the name not quite correct either. However,it is still worth consideration until possibly someone comes up with a different one which looks more of a possibility.
One item missed off my original message is that Roberts siblings who were Lay Preachers lived in Liverpool (Joseph), Oldham area(Silas), & Barrow in Furness(Alexander)
