Google Books has this article about Lavinia's illness. http://www.rootschat.com/links/03i5/

I can see a few references to a Catholic Girls School at Brook Green House in that 1790 - 1820 period, run by a Mrs Bayley, or Bailey or Baylis.

According to this website, the school was known as The Ark. http://www.rootschat.com/links/03i6/

Brook Green is in the present day London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.  You could try their archives and local history service - email at archives@lbhf.gov.uk or find them via the website www.lbhf.gov.uk and then "Leisure and Culture" - "Libraries" - "Archives"

Thank you everyone . the google book site is amazing >
why !
when i have "times ' articles about her conception no less...(Queen Charlotte used the story as her party piece when teasing the Spanish ambassador )
 ,Lavinia's   baptism in 1794 in Marylebone  ,
 now thanks to rc's ,articles 1806 ,
portraits of Lavinia  by Fuseli 1810-15(living @ Queens Elm )Brompton
address in sunfire 1821.(6 Blizard Place . 16 College Street Chelsea .)
, letters in 1820-29,
1841 census in 6 blizard pl.
wills ,1866 ,
Death 1866 off b.md.
Grave in Brompton cemetery.
The family got married in St Luke's Chelsea and were buried there 1841 but later were moved to Brompton cemetery.

WHY < have I got such a brickwall that i can't find her two daughters Lavina  Frederica and Frances de Irujo  who  were born between 1815 and by 1821 when the father is denying paternity of two children .......
Lavinia obviously never left the Fulham / Chelsea area .
Mind you i don't think i have ever looked at any catholic records .
By 1840 the family was poverty stricken and later became staunch chartists and friends of Marx .
Hardly the Spanish catholic nobles they had descended from . any ideas ?. thanks for your help everyone .
