This could be him in 1881:
Alfred Halls b 1862 Middlesex Drapers Assistant
Living at 1 W Grove Terrace,London (lots of apprentices/assistants so could be a lodging house)

Hi,
Are you looking for Alfred Hall or Arthur Watkinson/Wilkinson?

1901 Census shows children as: Arthur B. bc.1891 Cardiff, William George bc.1893 Walthamstow, Jane Rosetta bc.1895 Fulham, Alice Caroline bc.1898 Islington and Alfred Samuel bc.1900 New Brompton. All of these children, including the Arthur previous mentioned by Tati and found on 1891 Census, have their births registered as Watkinson.
So why change of name to Hall I wonder.

Cannot find a likely marriage with the names mentioned. Think you will have to get the birth certificate of one of the children (under Watkinson) to try and unravel this one.
