Hi All,
Could someone please have a look and find for me the Eagling Family on the 1861 census.
Esther Eagling was born Esther Pooley and she was born 17 Jan 1820 in Attleborough Norfolk.
She married Evan Eagling in 1846 and I believe they were living in Turnpike Road at the time of the census.
I am not quite sure when Evan was born.
I will look forward to any replies
Regards Wendy

Hi Mum44,
Thankyou for the 1861 census look-up.
I now know that Evan Eagling must of been married some time before he married Esther Pooley, as the daughter Sarah was aged 31 when when Evan's wife Esther was aged 40.
Hi Blue-Spirit, I don't think that there is a connection to your Jane Eagling but I do have another Eagling who apparently married Esther Pooley's sister. Rose Pooley born c1816 married a James Eagling. All I have found on them was a marriage in 1848 in Wayland. If I find anymore I will let you know.
Cheers Wendy

Hi Wendy
Could this be your Evan's first marriage? On the Norfolk FHS marriages cd available from http://www.norfolkfhs.org.uk/ this is the only entry for an Evan EAGLING.
Evan EGLIN and Elizabeth HOOK 15th Oct 1828 at Besthorp.
I notice the children on the 1861 are from Besthorp so would fit in.
Regards Sally

Hi Sally, Mum44 & Blue Spirit,
Yes I do believe that Evan Eagling first married Elizabeth Hooks on the 15 Oct 1828 and had a daugther Sarah as it all fits in nicely.
With the help of the 1841 census it certainly does prove it to be so. So thanks everyone, including you too Blue Spirit for making my head spin with all those Eaglings.
Kind regards Wendy
