70's sportswear manufacturer

  Can anyone help ? i am trying to find out about a firm that made sportswear in the 70's not sure what the company was called but the label in the clothing was VAN ALLEN or Van something similar , not much to go on i know but any help appreciated

This is really trawling the grey matter - but were they based near Enderby, with a head office in a building that is alongside a road that  crosses the M69.
Something tells me that the building was subsequently occupied by Next.

if its the same one - i think they did general clothing - not just sportswear.

VAN ALLAN were a chain of fashion retailers.

Perhaps your sports label was something different. Huh

 Hi Heathers , thank you for that i will  try looking in to this a bit more the reason  for my asking is that my late fathers cousin co-owend the firm , and i am trying to establish where in Leicester they lived , hopefully in the order of discovering any descendants , long shot i know but thank you for your reply ,

Have you thought of contacting Leics Record office to see if any papers relating to the company have been deposited ?

You've brought back some memories -  Wink I spent my first week's wages in 1974 on a jacket from Van Allan - burgundy suede with a fur trimmed hood. I thought I was made.  Grin
