Hi To All,
I hope someone can help me please?
I am trying to find the person below, for a friend who does not have access to a computer.
SARAH BLADES possibly born 1772 - 80 ? She had an adult baptism in 1792 in Coverham.
She had a daughter MARY BLADES 26/9/1818 in Askrigg.
Had another daughter called MARTHA, but have no idea when she was born, both of these were both illegitimate. There could have been more children, we are not too sure about this?
SARAH BLADES was buried 14/5/1857 in Askrigg.
Any ideas, suggestions I would be so grateful of, to try and help my friend. She is well and truly up against a brick wall here.
Many thanks.
Pauline.

Hi
I am not entirely sure about this (it would need to be checked if considered important enough) but I think that the daughter, Mary Blades, might have married Simpson Little in 1850 in Askrigg and (if so) they appear together on a few censuses (including the 1851 when they are two pages, or six households, away from Sarah).
There were a few other Mary Blades around that general area at that time but this one (uniquely) has a birth year of 1818/9 and a birth place of Askrigg on every census after 1841 that she appears on.
Simpson had been married previously to an Ann and they appear together in 1841 with some children. Simpson and Mary had children of their own from 1850 onwards.
If you think that it might be the right Mary Blades and you want any of the census details for them please let us know.

Hi,
Thank you so much for the information given.
Yes this is the correct MARY BLADES she did indeed marry SIMPSON LITTLE.
If you can give me any more information on these people, I would be very grateful. My friend is going to be so pleased, to get all of these details.
Best regards, Pauline.

Pauline Mary died in 1879. Simpson and some of the children can be seen on the 1881 census (free of charge) at http://www.familysearch.org/
The IGI also shows his father to be Miles Little and Batch C014123 shows three brothers called James, Christopher and Thomas. Batch C014122 also shows a sister called Peggy (the same name as the mother).
Simpson died in 1889.
Since your original query was about Sarah (and Mary) Blades I have not gone too far into the Little family. However, if you want any more about any of them, please let us know.

If there is anything else, that she wants to find out about. I will indeed take your offer up, of any more information to be had on this family.
Best regards and thank you so much.
