Do we know when the elusive James Robert/Robert James Vanhear, who married in 1920, died?
An obituary might give some info.

When Jane married Arthur Walter Atwell 21st February 1903 at St Lawrence in Ramsgate she is recorded as aged 20, Spinster of St Lawrence, father James Vanhear a deceased Fisherman.
Arthur aged 20 Bachelor Glazier of St George's Ramsgate son of Henry Sirus Atwell a Bricklayer, by Banns. Witnessed by George Atwell and H W J Atwell.
A David Briggs is researching the Vanhear family of Ramsgate but I cannot post his email address here as it woudn't be fair to him so search the Isle of Thanet Mailing List archives for the Keyword 'Vanhear'.
With James Robert being a Fisherman have you thought he may have died at Sea?

hi
i have found a relation to james who married violet, he says that his dad was reginald vanhear and his paternal grandparents were violet and robert vanhear, reg had a hal sister called stella (edwins daughter), he is from falmouth so they must have moved back , reg died in 1992
He has said that someone from new zealand has been doing the tree (about 15 years ago , but he has a lot of wrong info
p.s eveyone used to called reg james (i wonder why)
