Hello PetalXXX. None at Satley but one at Lanchester just four miles or so away.

It is for William, son of Edward and Elizabeth, who died 1835 aged 20.
If you think it may be yours you can have the full inscription.

Also the above Thomas Nichol, who died at Bounder House, March/15/1907 aged 73 years.

The gravestones for the Butterfields and the Harrison are all

Hello Weardsider. I wonder if your family married into the Hedley family? Here is a stone inscription for Hunwick that may be of interest. It is weathered but some of it can be read and anyway it may give you a lead.

In loving memory of William Headley of Grindle Dyke, Hunwick, who died Oct/23/1856 aged 67 years.
Also of Ann Butterfield, daughter of the above who died 1880? age 57 years?
Also Sarah Ann wife of the above who died January/23/1893? aged 79 years?

Looks like a Hedley marrying a Butterfield?

Adam.

Hi Adam - there is no marriage with any Hedleys that I have found.  What my brother and I were expecting was to find a marriage between Nichol and Butterfield or Harrison and Butterfield but this has not shown up.
