I think they may well be the same man, the ears and nose are certainly very similar. Not sure about the hair, is the second naturally curly?

Do you know the age of the photos?

I agree, and the forehead slopes the same aswell, it could be the case of different eras, different fashions, or a possibility of brothers.

I definately think it is the same man.

He could have smoothed his hair out on one photo, though it looks as if there is still a bit of a wave at the front.

I also think that the ears are identical, and the nose too.

I think this is definitely the same man, his features are identical.

The studio was Tuttle & Co. Elizabeth Street Melbourne and we think this man (Gerald Fitgerald) left NZ for Canada early 1900's. He had 3 brothers. The only photo we have of him,which we know for certain is him, was this one taken in Canada at a later date.

It could well be him, a little older and fuller of face but as you say the ears are the same.
