Dorothy,
Maybe she/her family could afford to buy property.... on Census 1841 the males in the family all mainly skilled craftsmen (page 302/12-16-16)
Although in 1851 (and in 1841 ) they/she are within the Parish of Whickham, they are specifically in the village of Dunston.
I assume you have Rosanna on C1871 ( 5051-17-57) living with her sawyer-son, John, himself now widowed.

Dorothy,
You having "trouble" with C1841 ?? Do you mean finding the family.... Ancestry web site has indexed then under the name Ferrich or something like that... but navigating to the page ref I gave earlier will take you to them ... or is your trouble about deciding whether the family is the "right" one (Her son John is a sawyer on C1841... as he was on C1871

Thanks Michael..I did eventually get them!
Same family .. all is well. The daughter Elizabeth is my connection to them and the sweet chick left home before 1841.
However .. I did manage to go back another generation with the French's and discover the father married Dorothy Brown. Brown to Black .. here we go again Has happened twice!
Take care and thanks again for the help! Dorothy
