can anyone tell me where the baptism/marriage records for this church are and also where the school records for st. mathews would be kept ??

GENUKI is usually helpful for this sort of query on churches. They have the church records as at Cheshire Records Office. You could probably also order a film copy for viewing at a local LDS Family History Centre.
Stockport Heritage Library may be able to advise on school records if any have been retained.

Up to about a couple of years ago the school records were at the new St.Mathews School. They were trying to get people to help transcribing them into various categories but I don't know what happened. As far as I recall there were three or four large volumes. The school is now on Bowdon Street, Edgeley, Stockport so it may be worthwhile you contacting them.

It seems that the school records have now been passed to Stockport Archives.
Attendance register 1897-1898
Admissions register 1900-1937 and 1949-1986
Infants' admission register 1937-1955
Junior admissions register 1932-1953
Junior girls' admission register 1932-1941
