Hi
I need some help
Buried some where in Clifferdine Wood Rendcomb is the body of Sir HENRY NIGEL ST. VALERY NORMAN Air Commodore, Royal Air Force killed in 1943. I was at the wood yesterday 29th but no luck in finding him its like looking for a needle in a haystack. Has any one ever seen this grave or could take a photo of it and please send it to me it would be very much appreciated.
Many regards Alf

At the risk of stating the obvious I suggest you contact the CWGC. They will have a file on this grave and should be able to help. Perhaps try the UK office rather than the Head Office at Maidenhead:
United Kingdom Area Commonwealth War Graves Commission Jenton Road Sydenham Leamington Spa Warwickshire CV31 1XS United Kingdom

Hi Imber
I have been in touch with the CWGC but they have not come back to me. Yesterday, being a nice warm day I took a trip out to the wood and drove down a road which beside the wood hoping it would end at the grave no such luck, only a house, and no one at home I'll find it some day. I will give the CWGC another week then I will phone the numbers you have supplied.
Alf

Hi Ther are no further details (map ref etc) on the CWGC web site http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=2451139
Cirencester library might have a 5 or 10 inch to the mile, or even larger scale map which might show the location, the 1:25,000 Scale Ordnance map doesn't show a memorial. If you can find a larger scale you might find the Legend "Mon" meaning Monument
