John Rice help please.
« on: Friday 30 May 08 09:12 BST (UK) »

Hi.
I am trying to obtain the GRO index for John Rice. What i have is.
From the 1891 census John Rice  male age 9 born 1882 Cambridge, son of John Rice brewers labourer and Kate  Rice. And they are living at 6 gold street Cambridge.
From the 1901 census i have John Rice 21 unmarried brewers labourer born Cambridge. And they are living at 29 Gold Street Cambridge.
If anyone can find the ref i would be grateful.
Thank you.

Hi Tati.
Thank you so much, this family is a real pain to track as they keep changing their ages, and i am trying to prove that all the children have the same mother, i have sent for the youngest son's birth cert but could find no ref of the eldest one which is John.
Thanks again.
Off to spend more money on certs now.

John and Kate were already together in 1881 therefore I suppose she'll be shown as his mother  Smiley

Hi Tati.
I am hoping to find that Kate is her second forename, As John Rice married a lady called Priscilla Hawkins, and i can find no death for Priscilla, and no remarriage for John.
Also John has taken 10 years off his age just to add to the confussion.
Thanks.
