Bishops Transcripts look-up
« on: Friday 30 May 08 12:19 BST (UK) »

Hi,

I can't access the Bishops Transcripts online, would somebody be able to look up the burial of Hannah Cartwright who died (Mar 1851, from FreeBMD index) in Northallerton, North Yorks.
I would like to know what the entry said.

Thanks,

Ed.

Hi Ed,

Unfortunately the searchlabs transcripts for
Northallerton only go up to 1808 - nothing later.  Sorry.

I'm not sure if it makes any difference but she was living in Brompton near northallerton before her death, would that fall under the northallerton transcripts or be separate?

Brompton is listed separately on searchlabs - but these only go up to 1808 as well. Sad

Would that be true also for Baptism?

If so that maybe explains why I can't find the birth of Francis Cartwright in neighbouring Thornton-le-Beans in the year 1810, from the IGI site also   Huh

Yes: the BTs include baptisms, marriages and burials all in the same register.  searchlabs don't have anything for Thornton le Beans , but I checked neighbouring North Otterington (BTs go up to 1812 and include some entries for people from Thornton-le-Beans) for Francis Cartwright without result.

The BTs that searchlabs have are for different dates for each place, some include later dates than others.
