Hi Christine
Welcome to Rootschat
Unfortunately as Brown is a very common name this could be difficult, especially, as Jane says, in a big place like Brighton. Does she give her father's name and occupation on her marriage certificate? And why do you think she might have been a Smith? Any relatives with her on censuses? Any snippet of info might help track her down.
Regards Jan
There is this extracted IGI record from FamilySearch.org which could be her
Ann Browne baptised 24 MAY 1813 St Nicholas, Brighton parents Thomas and Sarah
