Hi
I'm trying to track down the mother of William Herson (there's no father named on his marriage certificate). What I know so far: from the censuses he was born circa 1815-1818 at Apethorpe, Northamptonshire. He married Caroline Jones at Woodnewton in 1838, age given as 'full'. His likely death is in 1881, age given as 67, which would be 1814. I have found a baptism on the IGI 04 Dec 1814, mother given as Rachael Herson, no father named. This would fit in with the marriage certificate and death, but is too early for the censuses unless his age is wrong on the censuses. I can't tie him in with Rachael, other than this record. If this is his mother I think she married a John Kingston on 30 Oct 1817 at Woodnewton, but I can't find either of these in the 1841 census or any subsequent. Can anyone confirm my findings or suggest an alternative baptism/mother?
Thanks, Julie
