Marriage Help Powlson/Poulson

Hiya Peeps, looking for a little help if anyone can. I am trying to trace the husband of Mary Powlson/Poulson. When I looked on FreeBMD, as you know you get four names, well the two men on the page are Ernest Nohot and Henry Richards. Vol 1a page 587, date was March 1874. Marriage took place at St George Hanover Square. Could anyone try and help me to find which guy she married please? I am looking through census records and can't pin point him. The ref is actually 1a 597 and the possible spouses are Henry Richards and Ernest NOLOT

Should be an easy enough name to find in 1881(Free to search on Ancestry of course)

Sorry, Mary was born in 1836, Duffield, Derbyshire. Thanx for that help. I was doing this late last night, it's what I get for being sleepy lol. Thanx for the help, will now have another look. Lynn xx

I had already looked for Ernest in 1881 and found a suitable married candidate at Petworth House in Sussex but no sign of a wife, hence my request for some more info on Mary. Can't see anything obvious in 1891/1901 either

Well I've found him- he's a servant with loads of others in Petworth Sussex.

It says he's married,but neither Elizabeth ( the other lady on the page) nor Mary Nolot are to be found anywhere.

Now what can they have been mistranscribed as  Wink

A  Mary Nolot died age 65 in Belper in March 1901 ref 7b 378

I think we have our answer  Grin

Age fits with a 1836 birth doesn't it?

Will see if I can find her in 1891.

I think she is the Mary A Nolet in St George Hanover Sq in 1891.
Transcribed on Ancestry as being born in Haylewood Devon,when the image does in fact say Derbyshire.

I think you have found the right one, the Elizabeth Goodwin fits in with her neice. So instead of Duffield, it should of been Hazelwood, Derbyshire. Thanx so much, you are a star. Lynn xx
