Hi all
recently received a transcript of a death cert for William BOWYER (d. 14 July 1940 age 83) of Magill and it says that he re-married at age 53 - which would be around 1910. His wife Charlotte nee TYLER, from whom I descend, died in 1906. Would someone mind looking up to see who he married, and if there were any children from that marriage?
Cheers Nudge
PS must be some children from that marriage. With Charlotte he had the following kids:
Archibald Raymond BOWYER (1880-??)
Beatrice Olive BOWYER (1883-1972) - my gt-grandma.
Agness May BOWYER (1886-??)
Isabel Codrington BOWYER (1887-??)
Charles Henry Codrington BOWYER (1892-1910)
Hester Muriel Tyler BOWYER (1894-1913)
The death certificate said that he was survived by 2 sons and 3 daughters. So there must be at least one more son somewhere.

Well, that just doesn't add up. If the bdm registers are correct, Duncan Cochrane REID died over 6 months before he was married! And he aged 2 years in that short interval!
25th May 1909 - dead, aged 29 16th Dec 1909 - married, aged 31
Do we have a birth date for this chap?
Cheers one very confused Nudge

Hi
Have checked the indexes and the info given by Jenn is as indexed. Perhaps a mistranscription of the death year?? Not surprised at age discrepancies on marriage or death registrations.
Birth REID Duncan Cochrane 1 Dec 1877 Father Duncan REID Mother Martha COCHRANE Birth Place Portland Estate Ref PtA103/265
Puzzling.
Cheers Cando

I think the marriage year must be incorrect. I think maybe it is 1907, because then the ages add up. If the birth date is correct, then his age of 31 at death in 1909 is correct. If he was married in 1907, then he was 29 at marriage.
A poorly written 7 could be mistranscribed as a 9.
Thanks for your help, people. Nudge
