Could someone please look up a marriage between Thomas Dawson and Eleanor (or Ellenor/Ellen) 
I don't have her surname. Both were born around 1810/11 and had children, Adam b 1837, Thomas b 1840, Levi b 1842, Ann b 1846.
I've just received Levi's birth certificate but his mother's maiden name is unreadable.
They lived around Grantham.
So it is Eleanor's maiden name I am after.
Please, help!!!!!

Hi,
Just a thought but if you put an image of the Birth Cert up somebody may just be able to make out what it says !! Its a long shot but worth a go if you cant get it from Parish Records  Unless of course it is that illegible. !!

Hi, Helen,
That is very interesting. No, the name on the birth certificate does not look like Perkins at all, BUT, Perkins is a family name right down to my husband's brother who was landed with it.
The family would have lived in Little Gonerby early in the century, is that relevant? It is quite close to Grantham I see from maps.
Goodness only what is written on the birth certificate it looks like ....mountain.
Anyway, thank you very much for your help with this puzzle.

I think that you have hit on the family all right, so I will go with that - especially the Perkins connection.
On this birth certificate Thomas is also shown as a dealer in earthenware.
