parish reocrds - houstouns
« on: Thursday 05 June 08 18:40 BST (UK) »

Hi
I am struggling to work back with this family. I have five children:
Alexander Adam Houstoun 1813
Margaret Wallice Houstoun 1815
Andrew Robert Houstoun 1817
Hugh John Houstoun 1819
Elizabeth Isabella Hosutoun 1822

I can trace all but alexander forwards on the census. Their christenings  appear on the Igi in Claines.
Their father is Hugh Houstoun and mother is Sarah (maiden name unknown). I am trying to find Hugh and Sarah's  marriage but with no luck. Sarah was born 1786 in Powick. Can anyone help.

thanks to all

Hi Jim
that would be great . i can see why i missed it on igi with the houstoun misspelling.

any further details would be really useful. i am really trying to find hughs parents and birth as i am trying to link up to another houstoun family tree without any luck so far.

I can start looking at Sarahs family  now too

Thanks

Hi Vron,
My great, great grandfather was Andrew Robert Houstoun, son of Hugh Houstoun & Sarah.
I  have seen your chats with Jim.I can solve one of your
queries:Alexander Adam b 1813 died in Grenada.The
Houstouns had estates there.
I have quite a lot of info on the Houstouns & would be happy to share  it with you.

Hi

Funnily i have just found that out this week from another source.

andrew robert was my husbands great great grandfather too. which child are you descended from. he is from daughter Lucy (second marriage)

i have quite a lot on the houstouns from hugh and sarah down and i know!!!! they connect with the scottish houstouns  but cannot actually find the one piece of concrete proof  linking father hugh with them . i know it is pedantic but i do l ike to actually have something concrete.
would love to exchange info with you
if you pm me i will give you an email.
