Hi Fizzy,
1861 shows Mary's birth place as Saltash. Was her husband Richard? (or was it a John she was married to?)
1851 HO107/1879 403 20 Plymouth St Andrew, Devon 53 King Street Richard Pearn, head, 54, Boat Builder (Master), b. Cornwall Saltash Mary, wife, 52, b. do. Selina, dau, 21, Dressmaker, b. do. Susannah, dau, 18, Milliner, b. do.

Oh wait, this one looks better if they were married - also Fred was a Grocer later:
1851 HO107/1882 320 30 Stoke Damerel Devonport 48 Tavistock Street John Pearn, head, 55, Victualler, b. Saltash Mary, wife, 53, b. do.
