As Sue says this is all guess work until you get the certificate to confirm the names and occupations of both fathers. Money well spent otherwise you might dash off down the wring line. How do you know his year of birth? The census is taken in the spring time usually - cannot remember the exact dates -so ages can be out because of that.
Was he an upholsterer?

Perhaps the ages you have been given for Margaret and Ernest have been marginally falsified. The official records record them as having their births being registered in the following quarters.

Hi again
I think several of us have misread your years of focus and thought you wanted to get further back into the family's history. The deails you refer to like Albert Edward Junior (Birth registered June quarter of 1908, Brighton 2b 225 and the Gwendoline M birth registerd June quarter 1926 Brighton 2b 343) are more recent.
The 1891 & 1901 census details we have given are those showing Albert Senior (b 1882) as a child and although the 1881 census is too early to show Albert senior it does show his elder siblings and confirms his parents were Henry Edward and Rose nee Skinner.
You did write that you "can't get back from Albert Edward ARMSTRONG b. 1882 who married Florence Kate Ruth Gladman in Apr-June 1908 in Brighton.
and asked for help to get Albert's family and further back," so unless it's the Gladman line you are after, where are we going wrong?

Thanks all for replies ...... I am pretty sure of dates as the Armstrong line is for my wife, and the infomation I have is from Living people for whom Albert [Snr] Edward Armstrong [1882] was the Father, and therefore I have got all the siblings correct, especially for Albert Edward [Jnr] 1908 [my father-in-law]; Gwen 1926 [youngest, who is in NZ and we visit]; Marjory Joan 1921; Doris 1913.
